Get ready for the return of ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ on January 7, 2024, as Masterpiece gives fans a sneak peek of what’s to come.
In Season 4, Nicholas Ralph reprises his role as the young country vet, James Herriot, who is now happily married to Helen Herriot, portrayed by Rachel Shenton (known for ‘For Her Sins’). Samuel West, playing James’ capricious and erratic mentor, Siegfried Farnon, makes his return, as does Anna Madeley, who continues her role as Mrs. Hall, the matriarch of Skeldale House. Patricia Hodge, known for her role in ‘A Very English Scandal,’ also returns as the wonderfully eccentric Mrs. Pumphrey, along with her adored and pampered Pekingese, Tricki.
‘All Creatures Great and Small’ is a production by Playground for Channel 5, in association with Masterpiece and All3Media International. It premieres on the same night as ‘Miss Scarlet and The Duke,’ which is also kicking off its fourth season.
In the new episodes of ‘Miss Scarlet and The Duke,’ Eliza (played by Kate Phillips) takes charge of Nash & Sons’ business, even though there are no actual sons involved. The transition doesn’t go entirely smoothly, but she finds help from some familiar faces. Meanwhile, her relationship with William (the Duke, portrayed by Stuart Martin) reaches a pivotal moment that will shape their futures.
