Meta Quest 3 VR Headset and Accessories Now Available for Preorder

After several months since its initial unveiling, Meta has officially announced that the Quest 3 mixed reality VR headset will be launched on October 10th, as revealed during today’s Meta Connect live stream. In addition to this exciting news, Meta has also confirmed that the Xbox Cloud Gaming library will become playable on the Quest 3 starting in December. This eagerly anticipated headset will be offered in two storage options: 128GB for $500 and 512GB for $650. Preorders are currently open for the base 128GB model, and you can reserve yours at major retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and GameStop.

For those who secure their Meta Quest 3 preorder, a special bonus awaits in the form of Asgard’s Wrath, set to be released in Winter 2023. Furthermore, the 512GB model includes a six-month subscription to Meta Quest+, granting access to two games each month.

To enhance your Meta Quest 3 experience, a range of accessories is also launching alongside the headset. These include a convenient carrying case, Elite head straps, controller fasteners for a secure fit, and silicone face pad replacements available in various colors. All of these accessories are currently open for preorder as well.

The Meta Quest 3 is powered by a second-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 chipset and boasts 8GB of RAM, with storage options of either 128GB or 512GB depending on your preference. Its LCD screen impressively offers a 120Hz refresh rate and an eye-catching resolution of 2064 x 2208 per eye, accompanied by stereo speakers providing immersive 3D spatial audio.

In the realm of mixed reality, the Quest 3 stands out with a pair of RGB cameras featuring 18 PPD (pixels per degree), delivering twice the passthrough resolution compared to the Quest Pro and an impressive ten times sharper than the Quest 2.

What’s more, the Quest 3 flaunts a slim, lightweight design, nearly 40% slimmer than its predecessor, the Quest 2, as confirmed by Meta.

The Quest 3 ships with the new Touch Plus controllers, offering TruTouch haptic feedback and built-in hand-tracking support. This headset supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0 connections for seamless connectivity.

If you’re considering the carrying case, rest assured it’s spacious enough to accommodate the Quest 3 headset, Touch Plus controllers, charging cable, and all other components of your setup, including the optional Elite Strap. The case features a stylish gray felt exterior, a snag-free zipper, and plastic inner compartments tailored for organizing cables and accessories. Additionally, it comes with a one-year warranty for your peace of mind.
