Guide to Assassin’s Creed Mirage: Release Date, Preorder Details, File Size, and More

From 2007 to 2020, Ubisoft consistently delivered new Assassin’s Creed games within a two-year timeframe. However, this pattern was disrupted last year as Ubisoft decided to reshape the future of the franchise. The previous approach of creating massive open-world RPGs every other year was deemed unsustainable. Instead, the studio began developing a live-service game called Assassin’s Creed Infinity, intended to serve as a long-term foundation. In the interim, Ubisoft Bordeaux worked on Assassin’s Creed Mirage, a smaller, more affordably priced title that harks back to the series’ origins.

What Is Assassin’s Creed Mirage? In contrast to recent Assassin’s Creed entries like Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla, which boast well over 100 hours of gameplay, Mirage is a more compact project. According to Ubisoft VP Executive Producer Marc-Alexis Côté, players can anticipate completing the main story in approximately 15-20 hours, a duration more reminiscent of the first two mainline titles.

Mirage utilizes the same game engine as Valhalla but takes inspiration from the franchise’s original elements by emphasizing stealth, close-quarter combat, parkour, and a more densely packed city, with Baghdad at its heart.

You assume the role of Basim Ibn Ishaq, a street thief who previously appeared in Valhalla. He joins the Hidden Ones in Baghdad to combat the Templar Order. As in previous games, you’ll have access to various weapons, including a hidden blade, smoke bombs, and throwing knives. You can enhance your weapons and tools through a skill tree, and there’s a new ability called “Assassin’s Focus,” which enables Basim to eliminate multiple enemies simultaneously.

Release Date, Price, Preorder, and Supported Platforms Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set to release on October 5, 2023, and will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and PC for $49.99. If you’re interested in acquiring digital extras, a Deluxe Edition is available for $59.99, featuring a Prince of Persia–inspired outfit, eagle and mount skins, weapons, and more, along with a digital artbook and soundtrack.

Additionally, Apple has confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be ported to iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max in 2024.

It’s worth noting that while many contemporary games now cost $70, Ubisoft has chosen to reduce the price of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. In an interview with IGN, Ubisoft VP Executive Producer Marc-Alexis Côté clarified that not all future entries in the franchise will be massive RPGs, so pricing for smaller titles like Mirage will be adjusted accordingly. He also referred to Mirage as “a smaller Assassin’s Creed project.”

Assassin’s Creed Mirage File Size As per the Microsoft Store, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is estimated to occupy around 35.5 GB on Xbox Series X/S. Ubisoft also recommends having at least 40 GB of available storage for the PC version and suggests using a solid-state drive (SSD).
